SSM – Dean Medical Group, a 500+ physician multi-specialty group, is actively recruiting for a full-time (1.0FTE) adult based Neurology Advanced Practitioner.  The ideal candidate will have prior experience in neurology.

  • The Department of Neurology offers a full service of Neurology subspecialists, which includes Pediatric Neurology, Epilepsy, Neurophysiology, Stroke, Headache and Memory Care.
  • A dedicated neuro-hospitalist service is in the process of development.
  • Emergency stroke call is covered by a separate telemedicine stroke service.
  • Dean Medical Group strives for excellence with its EMG/NCS and EEG laboratories.
  • The EMG/NCS lab is accredited by the AANEM with exemplary status.
  • We have two AAET certified technologists as part of our team.
  • It is the only accredited EMG/NCS laboratory in Madison.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Supervising Physician(s) and in association with hospital/clinical staff, assists in the delivery of quality medical care.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attends initially to a patient in any setting to obtain a personal medical history, perform an appropriate physical examination, and record and present pertinent data concerning the patient, including all screenings and diagnostics, in a manner meaningful to the supervising physician.
  • Performs, or assists in performing, routine diagnostic studies as appropriate for the specific practice setting.
  • Performs routine therapeutic procedures, including, but not limited to; injections immunizations; suturing and care of wounds; application and removal of splints or cast; and oral medications.
  • Instructs and counsels patients on physical and mental health, including diet, disease, normal growth and development.
