Planner

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for coordination and movement of product from engineering development to shipment. Expediters will assist in completion of assignments for all products; sales, forecast and production; ensuring the efficient scheduling of operations.

Some specific assignments include but are not limited to:

• Tracking of production kits running at outside vendors.
• Insure production schedules are developed in cooperation with department manager to achieve maximum efficiency.

• Interface effectively with Production, Sales, Purchasing and Customer Service departments for planning, production, production related reporting functions and timely shipment purposes.

• Managing Engineering Changes in production and inventory.

• Tracking and scheduling of customer repair items.

• Authoring and maintaining ISO-9000 procedures.

• Developing a working knowledge and understanding of the MRP system and ensuring data integrity.

• Tracking and expediting material shortages through the buyers.

• Production Expediter will assume responsibility for the execution of processes and material handling in the absence of the Manager.

MINIMAL TRAINING NEEDS:

• Three years Production Planning experience.

• Experience with MRP systems.
• Excellent Data entry/computer skills.

• Experience using BiQuery, Access, Excel or similar programs.
• Experience with ISO 9000.

• Experience with all warehouse, shipping and receiving equipment.

PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:

• Ability to lift up to 40#.

• Capable of reading small print

• Shift varies between standing, walking, reaching, sitting, bending and lifting.

DEVELOPMENTAL TRAINING NEEDS:

• Mentor with supervisor

• Assume more leadership responsibilities
