Description

Aircraft Maintenance Technician  – Part-Time – San Diego (SAN)

We are seeking a Part-Time Aircraft Maintenance Technician to support international line maintenance operations at San Diego International Airport (SAN). This position plays a critical role in ensuring aircraft are safe, airworthy, and ready for on-time departures through expert pre-flight servicing and line maintenance support.

Key Details

  • Shift: 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM (4 hours daily)

  • Coverage needed 7 days a week

  • Multiple part-time AMTs may share weekly coverage based on availability

  • Technicians may be required to report earlier than scheduled if aircraft arrive ahead of time and may need to stay beyond shift end to address mechanical delays

Responsibilities

Line Maintenance & Servicing:

  • Perform pre-flight and post-flight inspections

  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues in a time-sensitive environment

  • Service aircraft systems including hydraulics, oil, oxygen, and tires

  • Work outdoors on the flight line in various weather conditions

  • Ensure all work meets FAA regulations and company safety standards

Compliance & Documentation:

  • Accurately complete maintenance documentation and logbook entries

  • Adhere to all regulatory and procedural compliance requirements

Professionalism & Communication:

  • Maintain communication with station leadership and maintenance control

  • Present a professional appearance and uphold a strong safety-focused work ethic

Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License (Required)

  • Aircraft maintenance experience required (line maintenance experience preferred)

  • Wide-body aircraft experience preferred — particularly Boeing 787 — but not required

  • Flexible availability to work the 10 AM – 2 PM shift on assigned days (Technicians may be required to report earlier than scheduled if aircraft arrive ahead of time and may need to stay beyond shift end to address mechanical delays)

  • Must be able to obtain airport badge, pass background check, and receive U.S. Customs clearance as part of the badging process

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely aircraft turnarounds
