Principal Software Engineer - Video Advertising (Java) - Remote

Company Description

pureIntegration is looking for a Principal Software Engineer - Video Advertising (Java) - Remote to assist with design, engineering, and software development of video ad insertion systems that provide advertising video content across many device types. The platform has high visibility, as it is integral to our client's video delivery platforms. 

The ideal candidate has experience supporting architecting and implementing scalable, high performing advertising solutions, including familiarity with various industry standards and specifications related to video advertising and content switching such as SCTE-35, SCTE-130, SCTE-224, IAB-VAST/VMAP. 

Location: Remote with occasional travel to client office in Denver, CO.

Work Arrangement: FTE, W2 Hourly, or 1099 Contract Role

Work Authorization: EAD, GC & USCIT

Responsibilities:

• Architect and design for advertising content ingest (transcoding and media conversion) and IP video delivery platform (ABR DASH) 
• Lead software development of video advertising platform for IP video delivery 
• Collaborate closely with Product, Architecture, Development, System Integration & Test, and Operations/Monitoring teams as well as external solution vendors
• Assist team in bootstrapping new services and developing new features (hands on development)
• Assist in troubleshooting of any production issues
• Document architecture and communicate implementation approach to team members
• Communicate with Engineering and Operations teams to resolve issues
• Self-starter approach 

Requirements:

• 8+ years Software Development experience (Java preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or computer Science or Engineering
• Strong software development experience
• Familiarity with various Software Engineering methodologies such as SAFE/Agile
• Experience with Amazon AWS cloud components – Including Lambda, MediaConvert, S3, API Gateway, CloudFront, IAM
• Experience with various software and web technologies such as Java, XML, HTML/JavaScript, JSON, web services
• Experience with various scripting technologies and monitoring tools such as Bash and Python
• Experience with log monitoring and reporting tools such as Splunk, Kibana and CloudWatch
• Experience with system integration and successful deployment of video products for DVB systems and/or IPTV
• Familiarity with various video encoding and transport technologies such as MPEG-2, MPEG-2TS, H.264, HLS, DASH
• Familiarity with various industry standards and specifications related to video advertising and content switching such as SCTE-35, SCTE-130, SCTE-224, IAB-VAST/VMAP
• Experience with developing, deploying, or operating a video advertising platform

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with microservice platforms running video delivery services
• Cable and video Industry experience; specifically, with Dynamic Ad Insertion and/or Video Delivery Pipelines
