Job Description

The Freelance Technical Director role is an ad hoc position, with hours typically scheduled from 4am to 12pm, or adjusted as necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with the Director to create and deliver visually captivating and varied subject shots.
• Partner with technical and news personnel to meet production requirements for live, recorded, and automated programming under supervision of the Director and Operations management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of two (2) years of hands-on experience in live, multi-camera studio production.
• Ability to identify and trouble shoot video routing issues.
• Expertise in operating Grass Valley Keyenne Switcher.
• Proficiency with Ross Tria Software.
• Proficiency with Ross Overdrive Software.
• Familiarity with Evertz Magnum Software.
• Knowledge of Guntermann & Drunck KVM.
• Experienced with Crestron Automation.

DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:

• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills are essential.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a fast paced, dynamic studio environment.
• Willingness to work flexible, non-traditional hours, including weekends and holidays.

In accordance with applicable NYC law, the estimated hourly rate for this role is $40.00 - $48.00 commensurate with experience.
