About the role
Meta’s Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) team oversees responsible business strategy, governance, cross-functional engagement and reporting at Meta. The ESG Data Specialist will be responsible for working cross functionally to identify ESG data needs, ensuring data governance protocols are introduced and adhered to, and facilitating ESG metrics and indicators reporting while coordinating across multiple work streams.ESG Data Specialist Responsibilities

- Collect and maintain datasets on ESG metrics and related corporate disclosures from various sources.
- Provide technical expertise in design, build, and launch of new data models and pipelines, reporting, and analytics platforms.
- Enable effective data management and strategic decision making by building databases, dashboards, and tools.
- Guide cross-functional teams in the development and/or optimization of data and process flows from data sources through disclosures.
- Understand Meta’s evolving data collection and reporting needs and support the evolution of existing processes, tools, and templates.
- 8+ years of experience using data access tools and building visualizations using large data sets and multiple data sources, particularly with Tableau and Excel.
- Experience in designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines (ETL/ELT process) and data catalogs.
- Proven knowledge of data governance and data quality tools.
- Familiarity with external reporting standards such as CDP, ISSB, GRI and regulatory frameworks such as CSRD and CSDDD.
- Experience presenting data and analytics insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working independently in a fast-paced environment.
- BA or BS degree with data analysis and visualization emphasis, such as in Computer Science, Social Sciences, Physical Sciences, Math, Engineering, Statistics, and/or Sustainability focus degree.
- Experience with scripting/templating language (ex. Python, JavaScript) and SQL and working with unstructured data.
