The Team:
Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) is a caseload model of midwifery, which revolves around continuity of care for women from known midwives.
- The RHH is the tertiary referral centre for Tasmania, we have around 2000 births each year.

The Role:
The Registered Midwife strengthens health outcomes through the provision of safe quality, clinically appropriate midwifery care in partnership with women, their families and other health professionals.
You will need:
- Current knowledge of, and the ability to apply midwifery principles, procedures and practices in the delivery of patient/client care in a designated practice area and in line with legal requirements and the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board (NMBA) Registered Midwife standards for practice.
- Sound interpersonal and communication skills, including written skills and the ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Knowledge of continuous quality improvement (safety and quality) and the application of evidence based practice in the practice setting.

Details of appointment:
Permanent, part time, shift worker position (fully rotational), working 64 hours per fortnight, from 18th April 2026.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Location: Hobart, Tasmania
Salary: $80,524 to $109,175 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Please note: This role attracts an additional all-purpose allowance of 35% in accordance with the Caseload Midwifery Industrial Agreement 2019.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
- Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439- $109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type
