Consumer behavior continues to evolve at a continually increasing pace.  Understanding this behavior and resulting performance of CPG products is not only critical to CPG retailers and manufacturers, but also to adjacent industries such as packaging.  When companies are leveraging the CPG industry’s best retail and consumer measurement data, they can optimize their business in a manner that is consistent with consumer behavior and most likely to succeed.  This is why we’re expanding into this new vertical, which will play a key role in our vision for the future.  It’s exciting!

In the role of Associate Director, Sales for Packaging Accounts, you will be responsible for leading large, complex sales engagements across our portfolio of NielsenIQ measurement solutions to our existing and new clients, and for expanding NIQ’s business across this client sector.  This role will continue to help pioneer the development of commercial strategies to renew and achieve new business, building meaningful client relationships, and ultimately closing deals.  The successful candidate will join an expanding team high performing and high energy associates.  This fast-paced team is excited to have a new member join our group to build on the momentum we have established and deliver against lofty but attainable growth goals.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Executing commercial strategy and sales of NielsenIQ’s measurement solutions for the North American Packaging market
  • Achieving sales and strategic objectives by clearly articulating NielsenIQ’s value proposition and use cases to decision makers specific to the product portfolio of responsibility
  • Building meaningful client relationships with client stakeholders and teams
  • Representing the voice of the customer to internal product development, product marketing, communications and delivery teams 
  • Working collaboratively with other product sales leads & cross functional partners 
  • Achieving sales quota consistent with NielsenIQ margin goals and delivery expectations
  • Generate sales leads and maintain a pipeline of sales opportunities across a portfolio of packaging clients consistent with NielsenIQ’s growth strategy
  • Accurately forecasting the sales pipeline, areas of growth, areas of risk and prioritize to close sales consistent with sales cycle norms
  • Ability to weave client specific insights, industry material and thought leadership information into client conversations to build context and clarity to the outcomes our solutions can deliver
  • Own cross functional relationships and be a subject matter expert for your accounts and partners in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

  • 7+ years’ experience selling or managing sales teams selling data or technology solutions into the CPG packaging, industrial packaging, transport packaging or protective packaging markets
  • Previous experience working in the areas of market measurement
  • Demonstrated success in achieving sales results
  • Experienced in scoping and developing proposals, and negotiation strategies
  • Excellent sales pipeline management skills with a track record of predictability and consistency 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • Familiarity with NielsenIQ solutions, applications and platforms a plus
