Staff Accountant

Description

1. Account reconciliations: Regularly reviewing and reconciling bank statements and other accounts to ensure accuracy of financial data. 
2. Financial reporting: Preparing and analyzing various financial reports like income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. 
3. Data entry and transaction recording: Inputting financial transactions into accounting software.
4. Tax preparation: Assisting with the preparation and filing of various tax returns. 
5. Audit support: Gathering and organizing documentation for internal and external audits. 
6. Compliance with regulations: Ensuring adherence to relevant accounting standards and regulations.
7. Prepares consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information.
8. Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports.
9. Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files as well as reconciling accounts.
10. Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures.
11. Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
12. Protects the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.

Requirements

Skills & Requirements:

1. Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) 
2. Strong understanding of percentage of completion accounting
3. Proficiency in accounting software 
4. Attention to detail and accuracy 
5. Analytical skills to identify discrepancies and potential issues 
6. Excellent organizational skills to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks 
7. Communication skills to effectively collaborate with other departments.
8. Independent, self-starter able to work with minimal supervision.
9. Must be a team player

Education and Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
2. Proven experience in accounting with at least 3 years of related experience, required.
