Essential Duties:
- Visit assigned sites to review meal production, service line set up, meal presentation, food quality, and sanitation procedures.
- Provide leadership and direction to managers and staff to ensure that all schools serve high quality meals.
- Conduct reviews of program operations to ensure that federal, state, and local procedures related to the school nutrition program are fully implemented.
- Ensure that work schedules are adequate and are accurately utilized.
- Work with School Nutrition Executive Director to implement standards for food production within the system.
- Assist School Nutrition Managers in providing nutrition education to the students and school community.
- Assist School Nutrition Managers in evaluating program operation.
- Assist School Nutrition Managers by ensuring the process for maintenance of budget is met (food cost, labor standards, inventory costs, other costs).
- Assist School Nutrition Mangers by developing plans to ensure the highest levels of student and faculty participation are achieved and maintained.
- Work with School Nutrition Managers and cashiers in the daily use of Websmartt.
- Train School Nutrition Managers and cashiers in the daily use of Websmartt and associated reports.
- Communicate with Technology to troubleshoot and solve problems associated with Websmartt.
- Promote professionalism through membership in related associations, professional groups, and by attending seminars and performing college work.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Preferred: Associate’s degree in Food and Nutrition, Food Service Management, Dietetics, Family and Consumer Sciences, Nutrition Education, Culinary Arts, Business, or a related field, with two years of relevant school nutrition program experience; or, a Bachelor’s degree in any academic major with two years of relevant school nutrition programs experience; or, a Bachelor’s degree with any academic major and a School Nutrition Director service certificate issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission; or, a Bachelor’s degree with an academic major in Food and Nutrition, Food Service Management, Dietetics, Family and Consumer Sciences, Nutrition Education, Culinary Arts, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years experience as a School Nutrition Manager, preferred.
- Completion of O.N.E., SL-2, SL-3, SL-4, and GaDOE School Nutrition Manager Pathway trainings, preferred.
- Valid ServSafe certification required, or ability to obtain such certification within three months of employment. Must maintain for position.
- Strong mathematical and computer skills with considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office products, required.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills, required.
- Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
- Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
- Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
- Ability to be present at the physical worksite.
- Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
- Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
- Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
