Collins Connected Aviation Solutions (CAS) organization ensures that known good parts and services are received from the supply chain.  We work collaboratively with our internal functional counterpart to ensure requirements flow down and TDP’s will result in product that performs in the system, services that meet performance requirements.  We conduct supplier oversight through requirements reviews, in-process and final inspection at supplier’s facilities, perform ‘value-added’ incoming inspection at Raytheon to ensure compliance.  We perform robust containment, root cause, corrective action and validation of supplier caused defects and develop bids that support the Supplier/Hardware Quality Activity.

In this role, you will work collaboratively with other engineers in the design, development, and qualification of various hardware components and systems.  You will work closely with cross-functional teams to successfully implement hardware solutions that meet Customer requirements and be required to lead data driven continuous improvement for overall quality performance of our ATS products.  As a Quality Engineer on our team, you will provide Quality Sciences Subject Matter expertise in accordance with ISO 9001/AS9100 standards and ensure product and process compliance to meet tactical and strategic objectives.  Your expertise will help drive innovation and contribute to the organization’s overall success! 

What You Will Do

  • Collaborating with multiple disciplines, including software engineers, electrical and mechanical engineers to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components.
  • Review of technical documentation, including specifications, schematics and test plans for conformance to requirements.
  • Participation in test and evaluation of hardware components and systems to ensure they meet design specifications and quality standards.
  • Performing process and product assessments for compliance to company directives, project plans, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Interfacing with suppliers and/or customers to resolve issues.
  • Presenting requirement verification and formal product acceptance, ensuring delivered end product meets requirements.
  • Providing Quality expertise for resolving hardware-related issues, driving corrective action and process improvement initiatives.
  • Participating in design reviews, providing feedback, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices in hardware design and development.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and less than 2 years prior relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications including MS Word, Excel, Power Point

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Ability to travel
  • Self-starter with the ability to think outside the box
  • Experience with CAD and/or Visio a plus.
  • BS/BA degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent
