Responsibilities
The overall purpose of our team is to pave the way for the near future concept within BoP and Service, that can break the cost curve for the full value chain on BoP, towers and service, to ensure the needed growth worldwide onshore and offshore.
To strengthen the service innovation area Vestas is seeking a senior specialist. Service and Power solution is very interlinked, and you will be implementing technical service concepts across both business units.
A foundational element for achieving favorable outcomes is possessing a robust background in mechanical or control systems engineering, coupled with extensive experience in service. Secondly having a good system understanding is a prerequisite.
You will be identifying key opportunities, spearheading the introduction, design and validation of mechanical and control concepts to ensure service improvement on cost, scalability and quality.
The work area primarily implies on service concepts around the WTG and will also be involving "design for service" concepts. Onshore and offshore.
You will get the opportunity to be involved in a vast number of different tasks such as

  • Analysis and programming in Matlab
  • Spearhead the creation of service concepts roadmap by integrating financial and technical solutions
  • Identifying and analyzing failure modes of control systems and mechanical structures
  • Design, validation of control and mechanical system
  • Technical and financial feasibility studies and concept benchmarking
  • Development of concept demonstrators, specification of test procedures and evaluation of test results with internal or/and external stakeholders
  • Concept development across the full value chain
  • Simulation and strength verification of complex mechanical structures (depending on the profile)


Qualifications

  • At least 8+ years of experience within wind industry
  • Have been working with service within the wind industry
  • Background in engineering (mechanical, electrical or software)
  • You are open-minded and have a holistic mindset
  • Your experience encompasses Service, innovation, and conventional engineering
  • Independent and self-driven

Additional information 
Your primary work location will be our offices in Aarhus, DK. You will work close together with colleagues globally in Vestas and partners and universities outside Vestas, so 10-20 days of travel pr year will be expected.
