A stealth, VC-funded company building the long tail of sports betting by providing software and games for sports fans to make every play, game, and season more exciting. We are a small, quickly growing, fully-remote team, and looking for talented people who love sports and tech startups!

The Role

This is a full-time, remote position working as a back-end developer in our engineering department, who will help build out new microservices as well as extending existing ones. You will be responsible for the design, development, deployment, and support of back-end systems in a cloud environment that will power our website and mobile applications. As a part of a geographically dispersed remote team, you will cooperate closely with software engineers from the United States and Prague.

You Must

• Be able to work efficiently, both independently and in small teams, with excellent communication skills (a must in a remote environment).
• Be a self-starter with a strong work-ethic who approaches challenges with enthusiasm
• Have excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to methodically dissect unfamiliar systems.
• Uphold best practices in engineering, security, and design.
• Design systems with the objective of meeting user needs and business goals (i.e. know when to build extensibly and when to take a shortcut).
• Thrive in a startup environment - core hours are required, but so is the occasional evening
• Be able to work with people across multiple time zones (Czech Republic and US)

You Have

• 6+ years of experience in enterprise-level development with a focus on API driven applications
• Strong proficiency in NodeJS and JavaScript/TypeScript
• Deep understanding of relational databases and proficiency with SQL
• Experience building scalable applications in a cloud environment (familiarity with AWS and underlying services a plus)
• Mastery of with automated testing, Git version control, and other software development tools
• A desire to learn and pick up new technologies and skills
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to collaborate internally
• Experience with the following not required, but a plus: React, Mobile Development
