Technical Product Owner

Locations : Reston, VA or Bellevue, WA (Onsite- 5 days a week)

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Product Owner with a strong background in digital authentication services to lead the design, development, and delivery of secure, scalable solutions. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, product vision, and stakeholder communication. You will serve as the bridge between engineering teams, security specialists, and business stakeholders to ensure clear messaging, alignment, and successful execution of the product roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

• Product Ownership & Strategy
  • Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for digital authentication and identity solutions (e.g., SSO, MFA, OAuth, OpenID Connect).
  • Translate complex technical requirements into actionable product features and user stories.
  • Prioritize backlog items based on business value, security requirements, and technical feasibility.
• Technical Expertise
  • Collaborate closely with engineering to design and deliver robust, secure authentication services.
  • Stay current with industry standards and trends (e.g., FIDO2, passwordless authentication, biometric verification).
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and frameworks to enhance authentication services and improve user experience.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to executives, partners, and customers.
  • Ensure alignment between business needs, compliance requirements, and technical implementation.
• Execution & Delivery
  • Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and acceptance testing.
  • Define success metrics, monitor product performance, and drive continuous improvements.
  • Ensure timely delivery of secure, reliable, and scalable authentication features.

Qualifications

• Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in product management or product ownership roles, with at least 3 years in authentication, identity management, or security-related domains.
• Technical Knowledge
  • Deep understanding of authentication protocols (OAuth2, SAML, OpenID Connect, FIDO2).
  • Familiarity with cloud identity platforms (Okta, Azure AD, Ping Identity, ForgeRock, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Angular and Node
  • Experience with API-driven authentication services and integrating identity solutions into complex systems.
