Starting Annual Salary Range: $48,410.18 - $49,410.18, plus current annual Competitive Area Differential (C.A.D.) of $644.80.
Paid Bi-Weekly

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current employee of the Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
- Four years professional accounting experience.
- Proficient in using a computer as well as Microsoft Office Suite to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.
- Experience with Florida Accounting Information Resource system.
- Successful completion of the due diligence process to include, but not limited to, a Level II background check.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Preference will be given to candidates with the following qualifications:
- Two (2) years of accounting, payroll, professional experience in a governmental organization.
- Experience in conducting research to resolve problems and related transactions and complete correction journal entries.
- Proficiency working with web-based accounting software.
- Proficiency conducting work-related internet research.
- Experience with My Florida Market Place also referred to as Ariba.
- Familiarity with payroll processing.
- Intermediate level proficiency performing fiscal/financial/accounting studies, analyzing data, and making recommendations on course of action-based findings.
- Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper and timely completion of work assignments, including multiple and complex projects.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to produce accurate and timely information under tight timeframes.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This is professional accounting work involving the independent application of accounting and auditing concepts, principles, theory, and technical skills in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS), independently performing accounting work that is highly specialized and requires the design and development of financial policies, procedures, and programs used by the agency including preparation of reports and analyses in accordance with applicable standards. This position is involved in payroll process, purchase card approval, and in overall accounts payable process of the Department. Performs accounting and payroll functions in FLAIR, People First, Florida PALM, MY Florida Market Place (MFMP) also referred to as Ariba, along with reconciliation of payroll download and Florida PALM processes. It requires the ability to understand, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
