The Role at a Glance
This role supports Lincoln’s People, Culture, Communications and Legal areas as a Communications Specialist. This individual will work with various stakeholders at all levels of the organization to understand business objectives and communications needs, both internal and external, and will proactively recommend and implement communications solutions.
What you'll be doing
- Manage the end-to-end development of internal and external communications including developing communications plans, drafting email messages, internal articles, press releases, social media posts, video scripts, talking points and more. This includes writing and content development, partnering with creative and other internal teams as needed and coordinating approvals and distribution of these communications.
- Manages content on Lincoln’s internal communications platforms and has expertise in how to leverage our communications toolkit (intranet, email distribution platform, etc.)
- Support large employee town hall meetings and other internal events, including content development and execution of all necessary meeting components.
- Maintain the team’s communications metrics, report out regularly to help the team measure success of various campaigns and prepare formal reports for senior leadership.
- Maintains knowledge on current and emerging communications trends, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in to current and future solutions.
What we’re looking for
- 1-3+ years of experience in communications or marketing
- 4 Year/Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

- Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
- Motivated self-starter, resourceful.
- Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail.
- Demonstrates ability to work independently and as part of a team within a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrates strong writing ability, including strong understanding of and adherence to usage and grammar skills, ability to translate complex topics into understandable and actionable communications and, ability to develop content for use across multiple channels and audiences.
- Project management skills, including critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment/under pressure and meeting deadlines.
- Creative/innovative thinking capabilities – demonstrates ability to identify and recommend process improvements, new tools, new ways of doing things.
- Demonstrates strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g., managers, peers, and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches.
- Demonstrates ability to identify causes and solutions for conflict. Finds common ground and can gain collaboration among management, colleagues and peers; can influence outcomes.
