Electrical/Mechanical Assembler

POSITION SUMMARY

Junior– Mechanical / Electrical Shop Technician is an apprentice level skilled tradesperson that has experience in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic applications and assemblies

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Electro-Mechanical integration of burners and associated components, including assembly and plumbing.
• Wiring and fabrication of electrical control panels and systems.  
• Ability to read or learn to read, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic schematics and assemble components according to those schematics.
• Highly skilled in marking/identification of wires as well as installing wires through conduit under supervision.
• Ability wire in control panels, motors, and blowers using supplied drawings and schematics under supervision.
• Ability to identify and install the correct hydraulic fittings per material lists and supplied drawings. 
• Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects at one time.
• Completes assigned tasks efficiently and with an attention to detail and quality.
• Being able to develop problem solving skills in the installation of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic installation according to schematics.
• Commitment to safety in the workplace.
• Willingness to learn and elevate their skill level.
• Other duties as assigned.
   

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred in related field.
• 2+ years of electrical/mechanical/hydraulic experience.
• Knowledge of the basic concepts of electrical and hydraulic installation.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety precautions when dealing with electrical components and hydraulics.
• Basic verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
• Basic understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
• Must have basic computer skills as well as the ability to learn automation systems (PLC, HMI, process controls).
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization.
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to work with peers and management in a positive team atmosphere.
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines.
• Possess a mechanical aptitude; ability to use a large variety of hand tools and basic knowledge of power tools, forklifts, etc.
• Ability to work overtime as necessary.

PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see.  
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
• The noise level in the work environment may be high.
