A Day in the Life

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Hardware Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of hardware systems. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in PCB design, digital communications, and embedded systems, with a proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex hardware issues.

Key Responsibilities: 

Design & Development: 

  • Lead PCB design projects using tools like Cadence Allegro and SolidWorks. 
  • Develop embedded hardware solutions, including FPGA-based systems. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and optimize hardware and software components. 

Testing & Troubleshooting: 

  • Diagnose and resolve PCB issues, ensuring hardware reliability and performance. 
  • Perform rigorous testing of hardware systems to ensure compliance with specifications. 

Project Leadership: 

  • Manage hardware development projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards. 
  • Mentor junior engineers, fostering technical growth and innovation. 

Documentation & Collaboration: 

  • Maintain detailed documentation of designs, test results, and troubleshooting processes. 
  • Work closely with stakeholders to identify requirements and deliver tailored hardware solutions. 

Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A) and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.

Nice to Have:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. 
  • Experience: 6+ years of experience in hardware design and electronics engineering. 
  • Technical Skills: 
  • Proficiency in PCB design tools (e.g., Cadence Allegro, SolidWorks). 
  • Expertise in FPGA development and digital communication systems. 
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, collaborative mindset, and excellent communication skills.

This role will require less than 10% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$113,600.00 - $170,400.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California
