Job Description:
The HPE CPE and USS team seeks an experienced technical program manager covering development tools, operating systems, and related software services components. The successful candidate of this team will be responsible for establishing capacity planning, aligning and tracking work schedules, and oversee the various stages of product development. This is a leadership role that requires close collaboration across multiple levels within the organization. The USS team provides key software components that run on HPE’s supercomputing hardware. Strong candidates will have extensive experience aligning agile software plans within waterfall hardware programs.
Responsibilities:
- Create, maintain, and align work schedules, roadmaps, and execution plans.
- Plan and manage product development stages within a complex HPC software environment.
- Collaborate with software engineers, architects, product management, and other program managers.
- Report product development progress to managers and directors.
- Develop processes and plans that ensure software is delivered on-time.
- Participate and/or lead team scrums
- Knowledge of Jira and demonstrated ability to ensure data integrity within Jira
Education and Experience Required:
- B.S or M.S. degree in a related software engineering field is required.
- PMP certification is highly desirable
- 5+ years prior experience in a technical program manager role is required.
- Prior production software development experience is highly desirable.
- Experience aligning software and hardware schedules is required.
- Experience with Linux and knowledge of open source software development methodologies is required.
- 3+ years of agile experience is required.
- Direct experience working in HPC environments, cluster computing, AI, or cloud computing or similar large scale computing environments is highly desired.

- Advanced project management skills including time and risk management, resource prioritization, and project structuring.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to manage resources and dependencies to capacity is essential for success in this role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influence skills.
- Advanced business acumen, technical knowledge, and extensive knowledge in applications and technologies.
- Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
- Strong English communication skills (e.g. written, verbal, presentation)
- Strong active listening skills and interpersonal skills
- Able to create and maintain strong working relationships in a distributed working environment
- Demonstrate reliability, flexibility, and able to provide and receive feedback
