We are looking for high caliber and tested Specialist Solutions Architect to start a project with strategic significance and high exposure. In this role you will define scalable processes and frameworks leveraged by multiple cross-functional teams. You will apply both business and technical acumen in a fast-paced, ambiguous and innovative environment. Our ideal teammate possesses a natural curiosity, sharp analytical skills and is excited to pioneer on behalf of customers.

Our Specialist Solutions Architects are very experienced technologists with technical breadth and depth in Solutions Design with strong interpersonal skills. As a Specialist Solutions Architect, you will work directly with some of our largest customers to enable innovation through continuous deployment across technology stacks and demonstrate best practices around advanced software solutions.

You will partner with Sales, Engineering, and several other Amazon teams to help our customers craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient architectures that address customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of our services. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Retail solutions and experience leading deep architecture discussions. They must be self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges and have a passion for educating, training, and designing software solutions for enterprise customers.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications or infrastructures
• 8+ years within specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics)

• Minimum of 7 years enterprise IT applications experience that includes at least 5 years of hands-on software development, solutions architecture, DevOps engineering
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Retail industry
• Strong strategic aptitude, experience building short and long term strategy in a consulting organization
• Demonstrated experience working with the C level/Senior leadership at medium or large enterprises
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering/MIS, Math or related field or equivalent experience

• The ability to deal with ambiguity and a changing environment, as well as a rapid work pace.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
• A proven track record of being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow through on projects.
• Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking skills are critical to success in this position
• Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as ability to scope technical requirements and prioritize
• AWS certification, Developer or Architect
• Strong written and presentation communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly

The pay range for this position in Colorado is $280k - $380k/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
