Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

JOB SUMMARY

• Operational execution of key daily tasks associated with shipping and receiving 
• Ensure incoming deliveries are receipted in properly and put away 
• Maintain proper raw material replenishment levels in PSAs 
• Perform system transactions for cables from Final QC 
• Cut, package & store cables 
• Load flatbed trucks for customer shipments 
• Safe forklift operation

REQUIRED

• 3-5 years’ work experience in a logistics role
• Knowledge of Supply Chain processes such as warehousing, distribution and inventory management
• Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Work experience with ERP business management software / systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, SAP, Oracle)
• Forklift Certification
• Must be certified in takeouts/respooling/lagline or willing to obtain required certifications

 

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

• Expected to have full understanding of department and company procedures and policies 
• Conduct safety walks within warehouse and throughout plant 
• Effectively/professionally convey information internally and externally 
• Wear proper PPE at all times in required areas
• Maintain compliance to training record requirements 
• Promote Corning in a positive manner and lead by example 
• Active good housekeeping and strict adherence to specific safety regulations and practices in day-to-day work 
• Prepare necessary paperwork for finished goods cables including processing of cuts 
• Effective, timely and accurate execution of outbound shipments with CLS designated carriers with the aim to improve efficiency in the warehouse, reduce transportation costs and meet customer requirements
• Ensure data integrity 
• Work interactively with Stakeholders to ensure inventory and shipping accuracy, minimize shipping backlog and meet customers’ requirements
• Aid team members in SAP troubleshooting/training
