Overview:

This is a paid opportunity to complete a Nursing Assistant course and launch your career in healthcare. Applicants must not currently be certified as Nursing Assistants or have completed a Nursing Assistant course.

Selected candidates will enroll in a paid, 4-week (120-hour) Nursing Assistant course provided by our MacMillan training center in Minneapolis, MN. The coursework includes a mix of in-person and virtual instruction. Upon completing the course, participants will take the Minnesota CNA Registry Exam.

Graduates will transition into one of the following open Nursing Assistant positions:

• 8 open positions at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis

• 5 open positions at Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute, Golden Valley

• 1 open position at United Hospital, St. Paul

Open position information will be discussed during candidate screening call.

All locations are union-represented under a collective bargaining agreement

Job Description:

Allina Health has created a unique training and development program, providing you the opportunity to become a Nursing Assistant through our Allina Health Nursing Assistant Academy. You will earn while you learn and grow throughout the program’s duration.  Placement into a Nursing Assistant role with Allina Health is contingent on successful completion of the program and details will be determined at the time of completion. 

Principle Responsibilities

• Attend and participate in Allina Health’s Nursing Assistant Academy, with both in person and virtual learning
• Learn basic nursing skills including how to take vital signs, provide personal cares, and mobility assistance
• After successfully completing all coursework, exams, and competencies required of the course, the trainee will be hired into a nursing assistant position, determined at that time
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required principle competencies as listed on the job description

Pay Range

Pay Range: $18.09 to $24.64 per hour

The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
