What You’ll Be Doing

As a member of the Corporate Solutions Group, work on a fast-paced team where you’ll deliver on CIBC’s mandate to provide corporate clients with innovative solutions to help them raise capital, grow, and invest actively throughout North America and key financial centers around the world. As a Director, under the guidance of senior business leaders, you’ll significantly impact the firm’s bottom line (i.e., trading revenue, deal flow, managing capital, client impact, risk responsibility, business budget, external profile, etc.) and contribute to firm-wide priorities and business line initiatives.

The successful Director will be flexible to work hours as needed to help deliver a great client experience, which may include evenings and weekends. The role operates within a high-energy trading floor environment, and will require frequent travel in the United States, and occasionally Canada. How You’ll Succeed

  • Represent New York CSG – ensure the growth of CIBC by tenaciously pursuing new opportunities, identify new clients, and act as an information source on regulations, processes, and procedures

  • Client engagement – Meet with clients to understand their priorities, advise them on solutions, and provide a forward-looking financial plan. Use your knowledge of cash management, credit, investment and wealth protection to help clients meet their goals.

  • Relationship building – Engage in marketing and outreach activities to show clients you value them and their communities. Grow your network, deepen existing relationships, and collaborate with others to ensure clients are connected to the right people and opportunities.

  • Leveraging technology – Become a technology expert. Share your knowledge by introducing clients to our mobile banking applications, enabling them to better manage their banking needs.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate expertise in energy derivatives, and you hold experience transacting with U.S. Large Corporate / multi-national entities.

  • Working knowledge of Asset Backed structures and are capable of modelling future cash flow exposures

  • You can demonstrate a working knowledge of U.S. legislation and regulatory requirements in order to either advise clients or market transactions effectively.

  • You have a degree or diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience, that provided you with a knowledge of business and finance.
