The Role
Our customers choose Proofpoint products for their industry-leading quality. Our Threat Strategy Managers play a crucial role in maximizing the value of this investment for customers by engaging proactively to enhance their information security programs. The Manager, Threat Strategy oversees a team of Threat Strategy Managers to ensure continuous protection for our customers. Collaborating closely with PCMS leadership, this person evaluates strategies to enhance customer satisfaction, retention, and defense of the Managed Threat Program.
This role involves setting team goals aligned with corporate objectives, offering mentorship and coaching to the Threat Strategy team. Ideal candidates will possess a deep understanding of advanced technical concepts and the ability to communicate program designs that support customer threat protection programs.
Successful candidates will have a proven track record of effectively engaging with customers at both technical and non-technical levels and managing high-performing teams. A focus on continuous improvement is essential. Familiarity with current threat actors in information security and the ability to provide guidance on identified threats is preferred.
As a Manager, Threat Strategy Manager, your responsibility is to work with your team to ensure customers fully realize the value of Proofpoint products and services, ultimately driving renewals and additional transactions. This role requires technical leadership in a dynamic environment, involving interactions with senior-level executives in enterprises and technical staff within IT and Security departments. The position entails independently providing ongoing technical leadership and support to Proofpoint customers with minimal supervision.
Your day-to-day
- Manage and monitor support interactions, serving as an internal advocate for Proofpoint customers, responding to customer escalations, and proactively escalating when needed
- The Threat Strategy Leader will be responsible for talent development for Threat Strategy team members
- Meet regularly with clients, both remotely and on-site (as needed), to review support interactions, status, major issues, emerging threats and how to combat them using Proofpoint products and services
- Develop deep understanding of customer’s business and operational needs
- Maintain deep practical technical knowledge of Proofpoint’s integration within the customer's environment, including network, security, systems administration, and messaging management
- Develop and oversee a comprehensive strategy to meet complex customer requirements utilizing Proofpoint’s solutions
- Provide proactive recommendations that protect our customer’s information assets, leveraging the Proofpoint product suite
- Identify and prioritize short term and long-term goals
- Plan and lead process improvement initiatives tailored to improve customer satisfaction with the services and interaction with the Proofpoint Team
- Plan, document, and identify risks and challenges for production changes that span multiple services or technologies
- Leads a team of Threat Strategy Managers and provides tactical and strategic guidance daily
- Monitor level of customer satisfaction and serves as a point of escalation for satisfaction issues
- Responsible for scheduling own time and for quality completion of multiple tasks within a varying environment of changing constraints
- Uses independent judgment within broad parameters
- Designs and implements solutions to complex problems with minimum supervision
- Provide technical guidance to customer teams and respond to enquiries regarding product
