Property and Casualty Underwriter

Working hours: This role is available on a part-time, job-share or full-time basis.  

Location: Birmingham, Hybrid  

Salary: £28,000 to £35,000 depending on experience plus excellent benefits

We are seeking an individual to join our team of experienced Underwriters who is passionate about our customers. As a Property and Casualty, you’ll be analysing and underwriting new business. This means you’ll be in a Market facing role, so it’s important that you are great at communicating and building meaningful relationships with our distribution partners.   

   

We’ll support and train you in all the technical aspects of the role and will make sure that you feel part of the team from day one.

• Analyse and underwrite new business.  

• Provide innovative and creative propositions to suit customer needs.

• Communicate and build meaningful relationships with distribution partners.  

• Take ownership of workload and support colleagues to deliver collective workload.  

• Interact with brokers and intermediaries daily.  

• Identify opportunities for process improvement.  

• Ensure profitable risks are taken in line with company strategy.  

• Deliver quality and timely solutions for customers.

Your skills and experience:  

• Willingness to learn, develop, and be part of a team.  

• Underwriting experience (especially with Property and Casualty) is a plus, but not required, as we are open to considering candidates with transferable skills and a strong willingness to learn.  

• Passion and desire to succeed.  

• Strong communication skills.  

• Ability to make decisions using data and judgment.  

• Attention to detail and ability to challenge processes and decisions.
