Brighton PTC Quality Inspector

Provide support to Vestas at the Pueblo PTC Storage Location inspecting and maintaining wind turbine components stored on the ground.

 

Responsibilities:

• Conduct complete, timely inspections of main components using a 5 - 15 line-item check list
  • Inspect component for damage, dirt, mold and corrosion
  • Inspect component oil levels
  • Inspect component dehumidifiers
  • Inspect for signed of rodent and pest damage
  • Inspect components are stored and supported correctly
• Submit inspection forms for review and filing
• Navigate the laydown yard in a safe, efficient manner
• Report progress and any damages to the Yard Manager
• Perform repairs and CIM upgrade work in accordance with provided Work Instructions

 

Essential Functions:

• Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, and bend for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to grip and manually manipulate, often with repetitive motion, items such as, but not limited to, hand tools, turbine parts.
• Efficient field of vision including visual depth perception
• Ability to climb in and out of the components   
• Must be able to work in all types of weather, including extremely hot and extremely cold temperature
• Must be able to see and hear alarms, timers and follow verbal instructions
• Must be able to tolerate a manufacturing environment within OSHA guidelines
• Ability to work at a pace in accordance to a takt plan that still meets safety and quality requirements
• Regular & reliable attendance
• Must be able to wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the duration of the task
• Driver's license
• Ability to work effectively with others
• Ability to interact frequently with others in a professional, courteous manner
• Flexibility with daily tasks and changing priorities

 

Education, Training, and Skills Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems significantly preferred.
• Ability to learn basic industrial safety practices / protocols including LOTO and Test-Verify-Test.
• Experience using basic hand tools
• Professional attention to detail and ability to follow directions with precise execution.
• Basic computer operation skills and familiarity with internet-based program navigation.
• Must be able to team lift 70 lbs.

 

Shift: Monday - Thursday, 5:00AM - 3:30PM
