Senior Project Manager – IT Security Programs

Role Overview

We are seeking a Project Management leader responsible for driving the successful execution of IT Security initiatives across the enterprise. This individual will oversee the delivery of both strategic portfolio programs and operational security projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance requirements. The role requires strong communication and coordination skills to provide clear status updates to executive leadership while maintaining collaboration with technical and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple IT Security projects and programs, from initiation through delivery.
  • Partner with security architects, engineering teams, operations, and business stakeholders to define project scope, priorities, and timelines.
  • Establish and manage program governance, reporting, and escalation processes.
  • Provide executive-level status updates, including project progress, risk/issue management, and financial tracking.
  • Support portfolio planning, resource alignment, and prioritization of security initiatives.
  • Ensure projects meet business outcomes, compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, HITRUST), and internal security standards.
  • Drive operational readiness by coordinating hand-offs between project and operations teams.
  • Mentor project managers and foster consistent delivery practices across the security portfolio.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in IT Program/Project Management.
  • Proven track record managing large, complex IT Security programs in regulated environments.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to deliver concise, actionable updates to C-level stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid).
  • PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Exceptional skills in portfolio management, resource planning, and vendor coordination.
