Do you like puzzles?  Getting through some of these systems security certifications can feel a bit like a puzzle.  There are a lot of different pieces, from our government customer, approving authorities, internal program managers, and all the software, hardware, electrical and mechanical engineers that need to coalesce to create the big picture.  Obtaining and maintaining authority to operate (ATO) is a key piece of an even bigger puzzle.  Without this piece, there is no puzzle.

Join our highly visible team and perform technically challenging assignments, which will closely contribute to protecting our nation and our products.  We are seeking a Senior Systems Security (Cybersecurity) Engineer to function as a key contributor for the Strategic Solutions Security Engineering team.

As a member of the Strategic Solutions Security Engineering (SSE) team, we want you to develop solutions to secure the Warfighter’s technology advantage. Systems Security Engineering creates security solutions leveraging multiple disciplines like Anti-Tamper (AT), Software Assurance, Hardware Assurance, Cryptography, NSA Type 1 Certification and Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM) to support Program Protection Implementation on various systems.

Position Location – Richardson, TX

What YOU will do:

  • You will support the development of RMF documents and controls validation testing for Authority to Operate (ATO) accreditations.

  • You will ensure proposed system changes are reviewed and implemented system modifications do not adversely affect the security of the system.

  • You will implement security improvements by assessing the current situation; evaluating trends; and anticipating requirements.

  • You will support the development of cybersecurity requirements, design and architecture artifacts, plans, and policies.

  • You will perform analysis on cybersecurity collected data and test results.

  • You will have hands-on technical duties and will provide on-site security engineering, systems administration, and information assurance support to the program.

  • You will work with Software Engineer and/or System Engineer team to implement cybersecurity policies, harden the system and document findings.

Qualifications YOU must have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

  • Experience in Security Technical Implementation Guidance (STIG) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) as described in NIST Special Publication 800-37.

  • Understanding of Systems Engineering requirements, specifications, and Experience implementing DoD and Federal IA Certification and Accreditation Processes, IA controls and developing and maintaining associated certification and accreditation documentation.

  • Familiar with Linux Commands

  • Utilize vulnerability scanning tools to include Tenable SecurityCenter, STIG Viewer, SCAP Compliance Checker/Tools

  • Position requires strong written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to work independently.

Qualifications we prefer:

  • Active and transferable U.S. Government DoD TOP SECRET level clearance

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued DoD TOP SECRET security clearance.

  • DoDI 8570.01-M IAT Level-II Compliant Certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, or equivalent).

  • Previous experience with Program Protection Plans (PPP) DoDI 5000.02 and DoDI 5200.39
