Pratt & Whitney is seeking an experienced Principal Project Engineer to support our Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) department to oversee and coordinate the administrative and operational aspects of ongoing projects within program guidelines.

What You Will Do:

  • Act as Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) of multi-disciplinary employees on projects in technical manufacturing and administrative areas by supporting the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets (support military budget Earn Value Measurement System (EVMS) activities, track progress, maintain the integrated master schedules for project(s), and identify and resolve obstacles to minimize disruption to project schedules.
  • Forecast project revenues, monitor costs and re-estimates project costs on a monthly to maximize project profitability and ensure business targets are met.
  • Analyze data gathered and develop solutions or alternative methods of proceeding to optimize performance and increase the efficiency of work.
  • Facilitate project tasks with the various functional organizations to ensure alignment with overall project objectives; and direct all phases of programs from inception through completion.
  • Coordinate the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of contract.
  • Travel: 10%.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and 8 years of experience in Project Engineering or a combination of experience in analytical mechanical design or manufacturing engineering; or an Advanced degree in Engineering 5 years of experience in Project Engineering or a combination of experience in analytical mechanical design or manufacturing engineering.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Active or willing to obtain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.
  • Previous experience in aerospace or defense industries.
  • Experience in MS Project, Agile, Jira, or Zenhub.
  • Experience in Earned Value Management Systems.

Department/Segment Overview: Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) Project Team. The selected candidate will be part of a team of Project engineers supporting commercial and military low-pressure and high-pressure static hardware. Our team is involved in new hardware designs as well as supporting mature, fielded configurations. The team is on-site and grouped to encourage cross-communication, teamwork, and best practices. Most team members support a single-engine program but on occasion are called upon to work on short-term initiatives for a different program.
