Material Handler Class I

Job Summary:  use motorized industrial equipment to load and unload trucks, locate and transport materials, pick and put away products and replenish storage locations

Primary Duties: 

• Safely operate motorized industrial equipment
• Perform daily checks of equipment before operating it
• Follow standard operating procedures
• Use handheld or truck-mounted RF units
• Maintain accurate documentation
• Accurately follow documented procedures
• Other duties as assigned

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

• Ability to pass the motorized industrial equipment test and obtain an operator’s license  
• Participation in meetings and projects
• Meet or exceed productivity and accuracy standards in the performance of job duties
• Adhere to all company policies, job procedures, and safety and security standards

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

• High school diploma or GED
• Participate in department meetings
• Ability to work well with others in a team-based environment
• Ability to recognize number patterns, add, subtract, multiply, and divide
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
• Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and demonstrate a sense of urgency
• Willingness to work overtime, as required
• Willingness to flex to the other department, as required

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

• Must be able to properly lift, pack, stack, and wrap up 50 pounds and/or team lift> 50 pounds throughout the day
• Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to touch, grasp, handle, and feel items
• Must be able to use manual material handling equipment such as Stand-Up or Sit-Down forklifts and Double Pallet Movers to move fully loaded pallets of products in the warehouse

 

WORKING CONDITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach, swivel, and be exposed to moving mechanical equipment.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Warehouse temperatures may reach up to 90 degrees during the Summer months.
