About the role

The Crew Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing multiple teams of workers in the construction and maintenance of underground utility systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in underground utility construction, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and quality and must be bilingual in Spanish and English..

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the construction crew, ensuring efficient and productive work performance.
  • Project Management: Plan, schedule, and execute underground utility construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations, conducting regular safety meetings and inspections.
  • Quality Control: Monitor the quality of work performed by the crew, ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Resource Management: Manage and allocate resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to optimize project efficiency.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve issues or conflicts that may arise during construction, minimizing delays and disruptions.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project progress, daily reports, timesheets, and other necessary documentation.
  • Client Relations: Communicate effectively with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements and expectations are met.
  • Travel: Frequent travel is required.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in underground utility construction, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in construction management or a related field is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications.
    • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry.
    • Ability to operate and understand the use of construction equipment and tools.
    • Bilingual: Spanish and English
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work in various weather conditions, perform manual labor, and lift heavy objects as needed.
