Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Risk Analytics Consultant to join the Consumer Data Management team within the Credit Risk Intelligence & Transformation (CRIT) group - a unit within Corporate Credit Risk.

Credit Risk Intelligence & Transformation is responsible for aggregating credit risk exposure across the company to aid in many use cases including – Regulatory Reporting, Management Reporting, and analytics. 

Credit Risk establishes and maintains Wells Fargo's risk management program and provides oversight, including challenges to and independent assessment of, the frontline's execution of its risk management responsibilities. We manage risk according to the Risk Management Framework and ensure all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk.

Corporate Risk roles depend on a variety of skills, including: Data analysis and synthesis, root cause analysis, change management, process management & execution, risk governance, risk strategy, risk identification & assessment, risk prevention, controls & mitigation, risk monitoring, reporting & escalation, risk systems & technology.

The mission of Credit Risk Information and Technology (CRIT) is to provide and maintain an enterprise-wide integrated view of credit data to support our independent risk management function. We proactively review and question data outputs, and provide credible challenge about affiliated processes, procedures, and controls. In addition, we provide vital subject matter expertise about Wells Fargo credit data—including objective analysis of risk attributes, trends, and reporting—for management, regulators, and the Board.

This position will be responsible for external reporting requirements and ensuring fully documented work products and processes. Your leadership skills are essential to managing deadlines, compliance with regulatory requirements, and continued enhancement of credit risk reporting.  Strong partnership skills are needed to foster and facilitate relationships with colleagues across multiple locations to provide an integrated and comprehensive picture of the bank’s credit risk.

The position’s primarily responsibilities will be to take ownership of, independently perform, and coordinate several key functions related to Consumer lending products. These responsibilities will include but are not limited to identifying source data, data attributes, creating and modifying SQL and SAS code, validating data, designing and implementing data audit processes / protocols for both internal and external submissions, providing summary finding reports to management, and  partnering/coordinating  with other Business Intelligence teams or external departments  to define, design,  and implement new processes.  The position may eventually provide work direction and technical guidance to junior level consultants.

Role and responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Partner with Risk, Technology, Finance, and Operations teams to provide data solution for business dynamics.

  • Improve data and reporting efficiency and increase team productivity.

  • Enhance data monitoring, audit, and documentation to ensure data quality, and proactively identify and mitigate potential risk.

  • Perform complex data analysis to address source reconciliation and data research and development, and enhance data integrity monitoring methodology and data release control.

  • Design and maintain usage control and governance framework and manage LOB collaboration. 

  • Support change management framework and execution.

  • Support attribute design and manage element definition and verification process with LOB.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of risk reporting experience, risk analytics experience, or a combination of both; or 2+ years of experience in a risk role and a Master's degree or higher in a quantitative field such as statistics, economics, mathematics, operations research, engineering, or business.

  • 4+ years of SAS programming experience.

  • 4+ years of SQL programming experience.
