Governance & ControlJob Description:
The G&C Manager I is responsible for supervising QA reviews within Commercial Loan Operations and Servicing to help strengthen processes conducted by Core Operations QA Methodology. This role will collaborate with Control Framework partners across Core Operations, as well Operations Leadership. The G&C Manager I will oversee the processing of QA reviews and reporting of results to business partners, while handling any escalated issues.
Position will Manage a staff of QA Analysts that are responsible for completing QA reviews for Commercial Loan Operations & Servicing processes. Will Communicate with functional area management to resolve escalated QA error challenges. Complete administrative tasks including: reviewing QA staff's work, maintaining errors logs and compiling monthly status reports. Review and/or create QA procedures and testing sheets, as needed. Collaborate with peers in QA Management to drive continuous improvement of the QA program.
The Manager I, G&C manages a team and oversees a governance and control function with low to moderate risk, provides research, evaluation, reporting operational and/or analytical support to the broader business governance and control mandate.
Depth & Scope:
- Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
- Manages a team of professionals, providing research, evaluation, operational and/or specialized business reporting and/or analytical support to the broader business leadership team that are assigned to projects ranging in size with medium complexity and risk
- Provides coaching, mentorship and guidance to team within area of expertise
- Coordinates and prioritizes multiple initiatives and manages team resource allocation
- Establishes effective relationships with different Stakeholders, Business Sponsors, Executives and LOB
- Focuses on short to medium-term planning and business issues (e.g. monthly-quarterly)
- Contributes to the overall discipline and strategy for the respective areas
- Sound knowledge of external competition, industry and/or market trends in relation to own function/business
Education & Experience:
- Undergraduate degree preferred
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Broad and deep knowledge of business and risk and control environment
- Proficient knowledge of governance, risk and control procedures, strategies & tactics
- Knowledge of current and emerging trends
- Skill in using analytical software tools, data analysis methods and reporting techniques
- Skill in using computer applications including MS Office
- Skill in managing budgets and resource allocation
- Skill in mentoring, coaching and performance management
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
- Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships
- Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently
- Ability to implement and evaluate program/project activities to ensure completion
- Ability to exercise sound judgement in making decisions
