Service Parts Planning Specialist II

 Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Service Parts Planning Specialist to support our supply chain and field service operations. This role focuses on forecasting, planning, and coordinating service parts availability to ensure timely support for field teams and customers. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, a customer-first mindset, and experience in logistics, inventory, or service operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze service parts usage and demand trends to support accurate forecasting and inventory planning.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely replenishment.
  • Collaborate with field service and customer support teams to align parts availability with service needs and customer expectations.
  • Serve as a liaison between service operations and customer service teams to ensure timely communication and resolution of parts-related issues.
  • Respond to escalated customer inquiries regarding parts availability, delivery timelines, and service delays with professionalism and urgency.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce delays or shortages, and improve the customer experience.
  • Support new product launches and end-of-life transitions by planning appropriate parts coverage and communicating changes to relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records and generate reports on inventory performance, service metrics, and customer satisfaction indicators.
  • Proactively monitor and address potential service disruptions to minimize impact on customer operations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications or coursework in supply chain, logistics, or operations a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in supply chain, inventory planning, logistics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficiency in Excel or similar tools.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP or inventory management systems is preferred.

Preferred Skills:

 

  • Experience in service parts or aftermarket logistics.
  • Knowledge of demand forecasting and inventory optimization techniques.
  • Exposure to data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.

 Level 2: Service Parts Planning Specialist

Focus: Core planning and coordination
Key Traits: Independent contributor, analytical, cross-functional
Responsibilities:

  • Forecast parts demand using historical data and service trends
  • Coordinate with procurement and logistics to ensure parts availability
  • Analyze inventory performance and recommend improvements
  • Support new product and end-of-life planning

 

Typical Experience: 2–4 years
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or certifications preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Lifting, climbing, and bending will be required at times in order to assist with stocking, shipping, and participation in taking inventory

• Warehouse must be occasionally reorganized, or surplus stock moved

 

Work Environment:

• Exposure to all hazards present on construction sites; i.e. falling hazards, and unsafe temporary structures
