Overview
The Senior Zero Administrator is responsible for the end-to-end management and support of technology that enables Disaster Recovery capabilities by ensuring the environment(s) are patched, right sized and available for the business. In this role, the Senior Disaster Recovery Administrator will partner with peer administrative teams to manage the automation and orchestration scripts that ensure we maintain the defined recovery point objectives (RPO). This role is primarily focused on the delivery of essential disaster recovery services utilizing the VM Ware platforms with a Zerto replication strategy.
Specialized Skills and Technologies
- Strong understanding of Ransomware recovery and architecture of Isolated Recovery Environments
- Subject matter expertise in IT Disaster Recovery with a minimum of 5 years of Disaster Recovery experience
- 5+ years of experience in an Information Technology discipline
- 5+ years of experience with developing / testing recovering strategies for cloud (IaaS / SaaS) based applications
- Strong knowledge of recovery tools such as SRM and Zerto
- 5+ years of experience with Wintel technology
- Experience with management, configuration and patching of AIX, MS Windows, Linux operating systems
- 5 + years of experience with automation and orchestration tools for recovering applications at alternate locations
- Experience in developing scripts that enable automation and minimize the manual effort in recovering applications
- Experience developing business impact analysis documents
- Strategic mindset to lead recovery strategy planning efforts
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex integrated disaster recovery exercises
- Thorough knowledge of data management in order to assist in the preparation of recovery procedures
- Strong ability in building effective relationships with clients and colleagues
Primary Responsibilities
- Stay current on supported technologies through various training opportunities
- Identify opportunities to enhance processes, procedures and policies relating to administrative function
- Participate in on call rotation
- Provide accurate and timely updates to work
- Improve the service offered to our business partners
- Proactively work on continuous improvement by identifying cost reductions and productivity improvements
- Create measures for successful execution, including policies, processes, procedures, and controls
- Implement, enforce, and improve policies, processes, procedures, and controls
- Maintain system landscape documentation
- Ensure effective administration of, and compliance with, all internal processes, procedures, and controls
- Communicate effectively up and down the organizational hierarchy
- Implement continuous improvement measures and initiatives
- Monitor and work on issues
- Research, evaluate and recommend applications
- Monitors, troubleshoots, and maintains systems / hardware / software and uses remote monitoring tools
- Monitors usage of shared resources, and works with appropriate engineers to resolve issues related to malfunctions
- Coach othersAnalyze project requirements and accordingly provide technical and functional recommendations
