As a Strategic Markets Community Lending Manager you will lead, coach and manage the successful execution of the Bank's fair lending and diverse markets business development and loan funding strategies across the Bank's footprint. In this capacity, serve as the primary liaison between and among the Community Bank, Mortgage Lending Division, Fair Lending, Compliance, CRA and Marketing departments to identify strategic markets for community outreach to support multicultural community engagement, development of centers of influence serving diverse populations, delivery of homebuyer/real estate lending solutions (1st and 2nd mortgage loans and small business loans) and development of special purpose products, as identified. Responsible for spearheading sales performance initiatives to achieve fair lending strategies and promote financial inclusion, including building relationships directly and through Community Bank and Mortgage Lending teammates, developing partnerships and collaborating with nonprofit agencies and minority groups to promote awareness and usage of Banner Bank's consumer and business solutions for underserved populations across Banner Bank's designated service area. 

In this role you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Partner and collaborate with Banner Bank’s LOB leadership to ensure the successful execution of business development initiatives aimed at serving diverse populations and underserved communities throughout Banner Bank’s footprint
  • Serve as the bank wide LOB liaison to Banner Bank’s Fair Lending and Compliance teams to evaluate sales performance results, identify opportunities for improvement, develop community outreach strategies, oversee implementation tactics, measure results and monitor outcomes, including new or revised regulations as they relate to sales performance and support of diverse communities.
  • Actively participate in workgroups and committee activities dealing with products, services, and key initiatives that may significantly impact the Bank’s ability to successfully serve diverse populations and achieve the Bank’s Fair Lending and CRA strategies.
  • Cultivate business relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Banner Bank branch leadership, relationship managers, lending officers, Realtor Associations, Affinity Partners and multicultural chapters to strengthen community partnerships and outreach initiatives
  • Participate in reviewing and approving marketing programs, ad copy, Internet website content, and other materials aimed at engaging diverse populations and driving sales performance results in underserved communities. Routinely track and report on initiatives, actions, and results.
  • Assist with internal and external training programs to enhance the understanding of serving specialty groups, including the development of seminars and financial education programs to support diverse communities
  • Lead projects, processes, and/or teams aligned with improving Banner Bank’s overall achievement of CRA initiatives and Fair Lending organizational goals and objectives
  • Responsible for complying with policies, procedures, security requirements, and government regulations. Participate in continuing education to maintain and enhance job performance.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree: Business, Finance, Economics, Communications or other related field required (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)

Experience

  • 8 or more years of banking service and sales experience, specifically in aligning client needs with consumer lending, commercial lending and/or residential lending solutions
  • 4 or more years of experience in a supervisory/management role leading a project, process or team required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Possess working knowledge of Consumer Lending, Commercial Lending, and/or Residential Mortgage Lending, and deposit and non-deposit products and services, including knowledge of the regulatory requirements applicable to banking bus
