POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is in the Office of Financial Management, reporting to the Accounts Payable section. This is a full-time position that works closely with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's (FDLE) financial information and is responsible for ensuring that data is accurate, protected, and in compliance with accounting standards. This position requires excellent customer service skills as it will require interacting with internal and external customers.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  • Auditing invoices to ensure they are accurate and in accordance with any applicable terms and conditions;
  • Processing invoice payments;
  • Ensuring payments comply with Florida Statues 215.422, FDLE policies, the Reference Guide for State Expenditures published by the Department of Financial Services, and other rules/guidelines as applicable;
  • Maintaining a pending file and working with vendors, members, and other divisions to resolve issues; and
  • Performing other general accounting duties which may include quarterly or semi-annual verifications of accounting records, updating accounting process documentation, or other special assignments.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures;
  • Knowledge of personal computers;
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to an accounting program;
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques;
  • Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data; and
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

 

BASE SALARY:

  • $44,290.00
