Group financial reporting & accounting specialist

The Group financial reporting & accounting specialist will be responsible to:
1/ Lead the COA revamping phase in order to guarantee a consistent and reliable Chart of Account between all systems (SAS/Omega/SAP/BFC) and ensure the set up of a relevant governance around these topics.
2/ Provide technical guidance or training to legal entities on IFRS 17 related topics to ensure that they have good understanding of interaction of different systems as well as analytical background to prepare technical analysis
3/ Involve in or lead (when appropriate) finance projects within the scope of the Group Reporting & accounting department
4/ Provide support to business to identify the operational aspects of accounting rules that can be relevant for their decisions, in close relation with CoE (accounting treatment / impact assessments for specific contracts: alternative solution, specific operation)
5/ Contribute to management of the relationship with auditors on financial reporting & accounting related topics
The position works very closely with all areas of Finance. It thus offers a broad and comprehensive view of what are the major financialchallenges of the P&C & L&H business of worldwide reinsurance company.
Key duties and responsibilities
Under the responsibility of the Head of Group Reporting & Accounting:
1/ Lead the COA revamping phase in order to guarantee a consistent and reliable Chart of Account between all systems (SAS/Omega/SAP/BFC)
- Build a Chart of Account that link the Omega TC to SAP GL and BFC, permitting to produce the FS, Rollforward and external disclosures under IFRS 17
- Ensure the non-regression of the CoA for other reporting (Parent/local gaap), meaning that the changes made for IFRS 17 need wouldn’t prevent the reporting under other gaap
- Participate to the business testing and implementation testing of the designed CoA
- Interaction with IT, BU, project team
- Define the relevant governance for CoA changes in BAU
2/ Provide technical guidance or training to legal entities on IFRS 17 related topics to ensure that they have good understanding of interaction of different systems as well as analytical background to prepare technical analysis
- Ensure that the LE have good understanding of the COA in order to be able to build their analysis for clearance meetings in the reconciliation part.
- Closing Clearance:
- Ensure the correct maintenance and development of AFO report used by LEs for their clearance package in relation with SAP CC, closing and consolidation teams
- Review clearance package produced by LEs to identify key topics and produce a group synthesis.
- Follow up after each quarter to improve/automatise the process and increase the knowledge and feedback to LEs
3/ Involve in or lead (when appropriate) finance projects within the scope of the Group reporting & accounting department
- Project of redesigning the IO process in light of IFRS 17
- Based on the different topics that can occur
4/ Provide support to business to identify the operational aspects of accounting rules that can be relevant for their decisions, in close relation with CoE (accounting treatment / impact assessments for specific contracts: alternative solution, specific operation)
• In particular, in the context fo IFRS17, provide a second level of controls regarding the production of technical notes (P&C / Life) to ensure the consistency between tools / disclosures and presentation (focus on workaround process to produce roll forward for URD)
5/ Contribute to management of the relationship with auditors on financial reporting & accounting related topics
- Manage the IFRS 17 PBC list associated to accounting topics
- Contribute to and control the items provided to auditors when appropriate.
- Ensure that adequate answers are provided to auditors.
Required experience & competencies
- IFRS Finance reporting experience
- Team player, collaborative spirit
- Very good understandingof Actuarial/Risk Assessment/FinancialTechniques.
- Strong knowledge of insurance/reinsurance businessand principles.
- Develops high levelsof credibility and accountability.
- Able to identifyand summarize the main issuesin a clear, unambiguous, and simple language.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
