Senior Project Accountant

NV5 is looking for a local or remote Senior Project Accountant to fill an immediate opening in its BT Vertical.  This person will be working with project managers in multiple states and with the Assistant Controller located in the St. Paul, Minnesota.

Responsibilities

• Create, review, and maintain project master data within Deltek Vantagepoint to maintain audit compliance
• Generate weekly invoice drafts
• Work with project managers to produce accurate and timely invoices
• Prepare invoicing forms and waivers as required, and submit invoices to clients via email or upload into portals
• Answer inquiries from staff, vendors, and clients
• Assist in collection and review of accounts receivable
• Conduct monthly AR meeting and provide monthly comments to Management
• Request client AR refunds as needed, prepare all documentation and verify client data to ensure precise submittal information
• Produce financial information and reports on projects
• Review project reports with project managers
• Review client and sub-consultant contracts and scope changes for proper supporting documentation
• Enter sub-consultant invoices within Deltek Vantagepoint
• Request new vendor set up as necessary, maintain documents to support requirements
• Complete project close-out tasks including revenue adjustments and write-offs
• Record and file all negotiated credits, write-offs, claim payments or other labor and expense adjustments on active projects
• Create and help manage data within Deltek Vantagepoint Planning module to ensure precise revenue calculations
• Review revenue based on established revenue earning formulas with each project manager for monthly revenue meetings
• Support risk assessment by alerting Controller and project manager to potential risks

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or Accounting preferred
• Deltek Vantagepoint experience preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively communicate with all employees across all levels of the company
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
