Postdoctoral Research Associate - Host Microbe Interactions

A postdoctoral research associate position is available in the lab of Dr. Jason Rosch.

Project Description:

This project is focused on understanding the genetic and mechanistic basis of antibiotic tolerance in Streptococcus pneumoniae. This will encompass genetic manipulation, phenotypic characterization,, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, and in vivo fitness models.

Position Responsibilities:

Position responsibilities include independently conducting research, preparation of manuscripts based on research outcomes, and grant writing. There will be opportunities to mentor students/interns as well as collaborate within and outside of the institution.

Minimum Education and/or Training:

PhD in microbiology or related field is required.

Special Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Preferred skills include experience in microbial genetics or immunology. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and capacity to work in a team setting is required.
