Primary Purpose:

Integrates teaching, research, service, and clinical supervision to provide quality education for students. Provide clinical oversight for the students in the specialist program in school psychology.

Essential Job Functions: 

1. Serves in the role of faculty member for the school psychology programs.
2. Engages in decision-making for school psychology programs by participating in weekly faculty meetings.
3. Teaches courses as assigned in the school psychology programs.
4. Supervises and mentors students' research.
5. Engages in student advisement and Annual Review.
6. Participates in student recruitment, selection, and interview process.
7. Attends orientation activities, Residential Skills Institute, and commencement.
8. Engages in scholarly publications and presentations.
9. Supports the mission of the college by demonstrating flexibility in the scheduling of courses, supervision, and or other meetings.
10. Serves and contributes to appropriate department, college, and university committees.
11. Maintains a professional development plan to assure growth and currency within the academic field.
12. Participates in ongoing program evaluation, accreditation activities, assessment of student outcomes, and continuous improvement efforts.
13. Participates in monitoring student progress, supporting professional competency development, and implementing remediation processes when appropriate.
14. Performs other duties as assigned or required by the Department Chair and/or Dean.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Knowledge:
1. Psychology - General knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; and learning and motivation.
2. Assessment – General knowledge of comprehensive psychological assessment procedures and psychological report writing.
2. Therapy and Counseling - General knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions.
3. English Language - General knowledge of the structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
4. Education and Training - General knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching, and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
5. Customer and Personal Service - General knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and professional services. This includes needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user satisfaction.
