Observer Controller/Trainer - Instructor (OC/T-I)

About the role

WWC Federal is seeking an Observer Controller/Trainer – Instructor (OC/T-I) to support the National Guard Bureau (NGB), and the Army Interagency Training and Education Center (AITEC). The OC/T-I is responsible for the development, synchronization, conduct, and control of AITEC exercises and training courses.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Work as part of an exercise planning team to design, develop and execute AITEC exercises.
  • Liaise with the supported unit to determine training needs and provide detailed written reports articulating training event and exercise requirements. Provide progress reports to the Government during the planning phase and participate in planning meetings as required.
  • Conduct real-time intelligence research on current WMD threats and develop Course Plans-of-Instruction (POI), event scenarios, incident descriptions, Master Scenario Events Lists (MSEL), and evaluation criteria in-line with the unique requirements of each supported organization.
  • Design, develop, and configure exercise props and other training aids to tailor exercise scenarios to satisfy specific or non-standard user requirements.
  • Develop Training Plans (TP) and Plans of Instruction (POI), and evaluation criteria for the supported unit based on the unique requirements that will lead to a successful training event / exercise.  Training events and exercises shall be in accordance with the concept of operations consistent with the training objectives of the supported organizations.
  • Serve as a Technical Subject Matter Expert and provide support of operations at a variety of training events and exercises on required subjects within the scope of training.
  • Facilitate After Action Reviews (AAR) with the supported organization and prepare and distribute After Action Review Reports (AARRs) to the supported organization following all training and evaluation events.  Complete a written evaluation of student/organization performance IAW Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) regulatory guidance.
  • Develop a Post Exercise Critique (PEC) for completion by the supported organization.
  • Develop and/or revise Plans of Instruction (POIs) for the AITEC training curriculum.
  • Objectively observe, control, and train the exercise training audience.
  • Coordinate with external agencies for research support and curriculum development such as other National Guard units; Federal, State, and local agencies; the National Guard Bureau, and other Department of Defense agencies.
  • Participate in planning conferences with the Government as needed to meet mission planning requirements.
  • Perform other related duties related to the work described.

Work Environment:

  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers) and /or occasional Loud noise (airfield, large equipment).
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to work in remote and rural environments.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to sit, stand, talk, and hear.
  • Employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to operate a computer.
  • Ability to drive a motor vehicle in environments including city, highway, and rural roads CONUS and OCONUS.

Travel:

  • 21-49% / Regular Travel.
  • This position may require travel to remote overseas locations for extended periods of time.
