The summer Internship program runs June through August, with flexible dates available, based on school schedules. This internship is with the following division:
Western Alliance Trust Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Western Alliance Bancorporation and an affiliate of Western Alliance Bank. Western Alliance Trust Company, N.A. is a premier provider delivering corporate trust services and levered loan administration solutions to the broadly syndicated and private credit markets. We offer the following services - Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLO) Trustee and Administration, Levered Loan Facility Administration, Loan Administration and Loan Agency Services (SMAs & Fund Structures), and Specialized Securities Custody. At Western Alliance Trust Company we act in many different capacities on these products including Trustee, Custodian, Collateral Agent, Paying Agent, and Transfer Agent.

What we are looking for:

As an Intern, you will experience the different areas within the Trust Company gaining exposure to the responsibilities of each of these groups and how each fit into the ultimate delivery of our services.  The experience will provide insight into the life cycle of a deal from setup to ongoing administration to termination.

  • Client Service Team is the customer facing team administering the deals on a day-to-day basis.  Assist the Client Service Analysts and Relationship Managers in completing daily and periodic tasks on the team
    • Complete daily cash reconciliation on a deal
    • Compile the monthly investor reporting package.
    • Compile the quarterly deal payments.
  • Analytics team – responsible for modeling the deals and setting up the reporting and payment templates for new deals.  Assist the team is in modelling new deals.
    • Setup a daily cash reconciliation tool
    • Setup a deal in Solvas including compliance testing and payments.
    • Setup the monthly and quarterly reporting template
  • Asset Administration Team is responsible for maintaining our loan system ensuring all the assets on our platform are accurate and up to date.
    • Read and interpret credit agreements that are the backbone of the loans we administer.
    • Input data points from the credit agreement into our loan system, Solvas
    • Process loan notices from the agent banks, updating our Solvas system.
  • Transaction Management Group is tasked with negotiating new deals, completing KYC, and opening new accounts.
    • Observe the process for setting up new deals and accounts in our system.
  • Product Management Team is the liaison team between the different Trust Company groups and our tech partners at the Bank.
    • Observe and participant in technology projects and initiatives building out our technology stack.

You may be a fit for the program if you meet certain eligibility requirements, including:

  • Undergraduate students currently enrolled in a related field of study
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to self-motivate and work productively without supervision
  • An interest in working in the Commercial Business Banking industry
