Job Description
In a time of unprecedented expansion, we are seeking an experienced System Administrator to help maintain and expand the technical infrastructure. In this position, you will plan, drive and execute complex projects and initiatives to support our technological buildout, as well as help develop data center facilities to support our expansion. The ideal candidate will have a strong, multidiscipline background including experience with Linux, Windows servers and storage. You will be working with outside vendors and staff members at all levels of the organization, so excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate are crucial for success. A day in the office looks like this:
- Translate business needs into technical solutions
- Analyze and optimize performance requirements based on business needs
- Proactively monitor and remediate all IT Infrastructure devices and applications
- Propose and implement system enhancements that will improve system performance and reliability
- Prepare for emergencies by discovering and proposing remediation plans for single-point failure
- Support 24x7 systems by providing off-hours, evening and weekend support while you are on-call to accommodate maintenance windows and break/fix actions
Qualifications
Got the skills and experience? Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/MIS or equivalent degree or work experience
- 5+ years of experience in system design, deployment and administration
- Strong working knowledge of Linux and Windows Server
- Strong working knowledge of VMware Enterprise and cloud virtualization systems
- Experience managing 100+ servers in a mixed environment
- Experience in managing storage systems; Nimble SAN a plus
- Experience in AWS Administration
- Experience using scripting such as Bash and PowerShell to automate system tasks
- Experience with configuration management tools is a plus
- Experience in data center design and disaster recovery is a plus
- Experience with monitoring tools like SolarWinds monitoring or Nagios, PRTG or similar
- Excellent communication and documentation skills—with the ability to clearly explain complex technical plans, policies and procedures both verbally and in writing
- Experience meeting challenging deadlines while managing multiple high-level projects with stakeholders

- Salary: $95,000 - $125,000 with an annual bonus of up to 10%
