About the role
The Congdon School of Health Sciences http://www.highpoint.edu/healthsciences/ at High Point University invites applications for a full-time Administrative Assistant. The Congdon School of Health Sciences Administrative Assistant is responsible for directly supporting the Dean and therefore, the Congdon School of Health Sciences.
This position performs a variety of skilled organizational duties, including, but not limited to supporting school and department administration, coordinating school activities and events, serving as a liaison to the school’s departments, working collaboratively with university departments such as admissions, human resources, accounting, and communications. Additionally, this position serves to manage and coordinate the department webpages and faculty recruiting and assist in budgeting and strategic planning.
As such, this individual should be highly organized, extremely detail oriented, and be able to multi-task with ease. In this position, candidates will be expected to demonstrate sound judgment, professional etiquette, and exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. In addition to having a pleasant demeanor, candidates must have excellent communication skills that will allow them to interact with a varied group of people.

Required Qualifications
- Associates degree
- Proficiency using various computer platforms and programs, including Microsoft 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong organization and planning skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively with broad range of people
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Basic understanding of invoicing and budget management
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience with Endnote, and Qualtrics.
- 2+ years of administrative experience
- Familiarity with High Point University
- Ability to research, compile and analyze data and develop meaningful reports and recommendations
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with operations as directed by the Dean.
- Assist with budgeting and expenditures.
- Assist with faculty and adjunct recruitment, contractual agreements, and onboarding.
- Liaison to the departments, faculty, and staff.
- Planning, coordination, and organization of school activities and events, including but not limited to interprofessional education, tours, award programs, commencement-related activities, fundraising opportunities, and other school events. Calendar and virtual calendar scheduling for the dean.
- Campus-wide event coordination, including those with admissions and as requested by university administration, including but not limited to open houses and preview fairs.
- Monitor and manage the maintenance and accuracy of the Congdon School of Health Sciences web site and printed materials.
- Supervise school student employment program workers.
- Establish and maintain records, correspondence, and statistics on individual events.
- Assist with activities related to the Congdon School of Health Sciences strategic plan.
- Assist with activities related to accreditation and the self-study process.
- Other duties as assigned by the Dean
Ability To
- Work as a team member; good time-management skills; good interpersonal/human relations skills.
- Communicate effectively orally, in writing and through technology.
- Track and keep a detailed budget.
- Follow instructions as well as take initiative.
- Supervise additional team members and student workers.
