Senior Manager, Corporate FP&A – Research & Development Business Partner

 

The primary responsibilities of this role are to be a principal business partner, and provide finance support to the global Research & Development (‘R&D’) leadership.  Key focus includes resource prioritization and allocation, providing insightful analysis and support for innovation investment decisions using ROIC and other investment metrics, and reporting on key KPIs. This role requires strong collaboration with the Global R&D Leadership team, Business Unit finance teams and Accounting and Reporting teams, amongst others.

Scope of the Role

 

Responsibilities:

• Responsible and accountable for driving innovation portfolio investment analysis across Perrigo’s two key business units in the US and Europe to support resource allocation decision making.
• Responsible for monthly presentations to the R&D leadership team on capital and operating expenses spend versus forecast.
• Ensure close liaison with the Marketing team (and their finance support) on innovation analytics.
• Provide support for New Frontier (eg Rx to OTC switches) business case development.
• Provide guidance and support in preparation of Stage Gate financial business cases to ensure that they are prepared accurately and in-line with Perrigo best-practice. 
• Partner with Global Portfolio Management to ensure that the health of the portfolio (eg portfolio balance, sufficiency, efficiency etc.) is monitored regularly.
• Support special projects from a process, forecasting and tracking perspective. This includes financial leadership and FP&A support, as well as collaborating across the business to ensure appropriate KPIs are developed and updates on performance are provided to the R&D leadership team on a timely basis.
• Supporting the Perrigo Annual Planning and Long Term Planning processes, including supporting the R&D leadership team with plan preparation, submissions and presentations to the Executive Leadership team.
• Support in the preparation of materials presented to the Board of Directors.

Experience Required

 

• Must possess comprehensive knowledge of financial planning and analysis, with a thorough understanding of analytical methods and R&D resource allocation KPIs.
• High level financial literacy and commercial analytical skills.
• Ability to collaborate with others outside of their immediate team. 
• Adapts quickly to changing needs in a fluid environment.
• Ability to influence and drive change.
• Proven strong commitment to deliver results within required timelines.
• Requires expert Microsoft Excel skills along with PowerPoint and SAP experience preferable. 
• Excellent management skills along with advanced verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• These skills are normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in accounting in addition to an MBA or ACA/CPA with 7+ or more years of progressive responsibility in finance with direct FP&A/Resource allocation experience in a large company setting.
