The Body and Fuel Division, within the Illinois Tool Work (ITW) Automotive segment, drives profitability by leveraging its innovative solutions and application engineering. Job Description

Position Summary:
The Business Unit Controller will be the finance leader of the Body & Fuel NA’s U.S. based organization and serve as a key business partner to the cross-functional facility leadership teams. Current Illinois based locations:  Frankfort, Richton Park, Mokena, and Lockport. 

Responsibilities:                                                                                           

  • Maintain accurate financial statements and records that comply with ITW policies
  • Coordinate the monthly forecasting process
  • Review, analyze and interpret financial performance vs. budget/forecast on a monthly, quarterly and YTD basis
  • Set key financial performance indicators and effectively communicate financial analysis and recommendations to improve financial performance utilizing the Segmented P&L, Customer Facing Metrics and Enterprise-Wide Metrics
  • Partner with Sales, Engineering, Quality and Operations to develop and support financial tools and trackers (price-cost, market analysis, etc.)
  • Provide financial support of operational 80/20 initiatives and apply the ITW principles/toolbox to improve financial processes
  • People leadership & talent development: manage senior Assistant Controller and AR/AP clerk and develop strong financial acumen among other cross-functional colleagues
  • Prepare business case analysis to support strategic investment decisions 
  • Review, evaluate and prioritize tasks/project assignments, identifies key issues and clearly communicates to management
  • Develop and enhance internal controls, policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
  • 7+ years of accounting/finance work experience
  • 3+ years of experience in managing finance teams or direct reports preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong analytical skills and overall knowledge of accounting principles
  • Organized and results-driven
  • Strong and proactive verbal and written communication
  • Expert Excel skills and ability to create pivot tables, charts, trend analysis
  • Experience with financial modeling
  • Ability to perform in a fast paced environment
