What is the role?

Elastic is looking for our next Technology Lead to join the Global Learning & Organizational Development team. In this role, one will use their proven technical competence and passion for crafting engaging and effective learning experiences, to deliver an integrated, learner centered, experiences to all Elasticians. We're looking for someone who can drive innovative learning technology strategies, and integrate learning platforms using web-based technology.

This is a remote position located in North America.

What You Will Do

  • Technical Strategy and Implementation: Create and implement the technical strategy for learning technologies, incorporating industry standard methodologies. Own the implementation and integration of new learning platforms, tools, and systems.
  • Platform Management and Administration: Supervise the technical administration, configuration, and maintenance of our Learning Management System (LMS) and other learning technology platforms. Ensure data integrity, security, and optimal performance.
  • Technical Development and Integration: Use knowledge of relevant programming languages and authoring tools (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) to support and train other instructional designers to use available content development tools.
  • Technical Support: Provide expert-level technical support to instructional designers, content developers, and end-users for all learning technology-related issues. Diagnose and resolve technical challenges efficiently and reliably.
  • API Integration and Automation: Explore and implement API integrations between learning platforms and other enterprise systems (e.g., HRIS, CRM) to automate processes and improve data flow.
  • New Technologies: Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in learning technologies, evaluating their potential application to improve our learning programs. Experiment with and pilot new tools and approaches.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Build and maintain technical solutions for tracking, analyzing, and reporting learning effectiveness. Use of data visualization tools to build business specific dashboards.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with sourcing team and external vendors for the selection, implementation, and support of learning technology solutions.

What you Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Educational Technology.
  • 5+ years of experience in learning technology administration, development, and support.
  • Deep technical expertise in leading and administering Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as [e.g. Cornerstone OnDemand, Docebo, SAP SuccessFactors].
  • Strong proficiency in web development technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline or Adobe Captivate.
  • Familiarity with API integrations and data exchange formats (e.g., REST, JSON, XML).
  • Proven track record of troubleshooting technical issues and providing effective solutions.
  • A passion for using technology to enhance learning and development.

Bonus Points

  • Master's degree in Educational Technology.
  • Experience with video production and editing tools.
  • Knowledge of learning analytics and reporting tools.
  • Certifications in relevant learning technologies or platforms.
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) in e-learning development.

Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary.  This role does not have a variable compensation component.  

The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below.  In select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below.
