Junior Accountant – Finance (Treasury)

The following role is within Verisk’s Treasury team, working alongside the Group treasurer and Treasury analysts, and will provide the individual with the ability to work in and closely with a talented finance team who are right at the forefront of Verisk’s rapid and exciting expansion.  The role offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience working with managing and monitoring cash located in multiple jurisdictions and in a variety of currencies.

Responsibilities

Core tasks:

The following tasks will be completed on a daily/weekly basis:

• Reconciling cash accounts to the GL to ensure completeness as well as investigating any discrepancies uncovered, with the relevant teams.
• Completing and tracking the various payments required to be made by treasury – including though not limited to Tax, Accounts Payable and Payroll payments.
• Maintaining and updating the treasury system (Kyriba).
• Manage the treasury mailbox, and answer any treasury related queries.
• Updating an monitoring cashflows

Monthly closure tasks:

At the end of each month the treasury team are heavily involved in the reconciliation and closure of financial records for the company, working closely with the AP, AR and GL teams to achieve this.  The following tasks will be performed within the role to aid with this process:

• Investigating Credit balances on the GL, and posting journals to correct.
• Posting bank charges and I/C cash movements.
• Ensuring bank reconciliations for the major bank accounts are complete and any issues are investigated/resolved before the accounts close for that month.

Compliance Responsibilities

• Answering internal and external audit queries
• Answering and completing KYC and AML reviews from our various banking relationships

Qualifications

• Experience of working on the Core Tasks above would be preferred, though candidates who can evidence a strong work ethic and desire for a career in finance will have the edge.
• Graduate degree in a relevant subject preferred, though not essential.
• 1-3 years of work experience would be beneficial.
