Description -

Responsible for overseeing the execution of a portfolio and releases associated with Elekta’s Oncology Software.  Working closely with the Head(s) of Product Management (who define the strategic direction for the Program) as part of the extended Research and Engineering management team. 

Strategy, Planning & Execution -

• To lead and contribute to the strategic planning and execution of activities associated with delivering Software related releases from the Product Roadmap.  Working with Product Management and other cross functional stakeholders to achieve business goals and prioritization of initiatives. Responsible from Gate 0 / 1 (initiation) to Gate 5 (Full commercial release.)

• Projects may include: New feature / functionality Major new platform release Product Lifecycle management

• Working with the functions across the business (Product Organisation, Operations, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Service and the Markets) ensuring that Program Objectives and Strategy are aligned and working to ensure that all relevant targets and objectives of the programme are met. Working solutions, delivered to markets, which meet customer requirements, able to operate at a consistent high quality and compliant with regulatory obligations, are the primary measures of success.

• Participate as a member of the Research & Engineering Management Team in establishing governance processes of direction and control to ensure that objectives are achieved, risks are managed appropriately, and the organization resources are used responsibly. Drive continuous improvement (with support of other leadership roles, such as Heads of Engineering) to bring a lean, customer focused approach to all relevant business processes.

 Implementation & Deployment -

• Ensure that projects and developments are made according to Elekta R&E processes and  methodologies as per Elekta quality system .

• Maintain and champion a culture of continuous improvement and learning.

• Review and approve proposed development releases and manage the release process aligned with Project Management.

Operational Management -

• Accountable for the operational effectiveness of the Program, driving efficient escalations cross-functionally where required.

• Oversee and provide management for PMO resources deployed to the program.

• Oversee effective deployment of cross functional resources that have been assigned to the value stream in relation to delivery of the program.

• Ensure that technology standards and best practices are maintained across the R&E organization.

• Develop, track, and control the budgets for the programmes and projects.

Leadership -

• Direct Leadership of team of Delivery experts. 

• Indirect leadership and influence over cross-functional product teams, defining project milestones, agile ways of working and championing a culture of continuous learning and psychological safety to enable high performing teams 

• Lead the effective utilization of resources, accountable for delivery to time and budget

• Develop and define the capabilities of our people, for now and for future success

• Line management responsibility for direct reports, incl target setting, coaching and performance management

• Outline, update and control the expense budgets

• Long term competence development to build a high performing team
